Abstract

Methods for constructing computing devices (CDs) based on FPGAs using parallel and quasi-parallel operational blocks are considered. The characteristics of their resource consumption, maximum speed, and power consumption are investigated. It is shown that for a single calculation of the considered rational functions, quasi-parallel CDs implemented on the basis of FPGAs surpass parallel CDs in terms of main technical and economic characteristics as the operand bit width increases.
