Diamond multi-element photodetectors for the UV range
Abstract
The principles of design and the technology for fabricating matrix photodetectors of ultraviolet radiation based on natural diamond are discussed. Measurements of spectral and current–voltage characteristics, dark currents, and leakage currents were carried out under various applied voltages for linear (2×64) and matrix (64×64) photodetector devices. It is shown that surface leakage currents play a dominant role in limiting the photosensitivity of these structures. A significant variation in dark current and photocurrent was observed in matrix photodetectors based on natural diamond, associated with the inhomogeneity of the defect structure.
